Stacy David's GearZ Features Snow Performance MPG-Max System

Stacy David's GearZ television show featured the Snow Performance MPG-Max water/methanol injection system. Stacy David explained how water/methanol injection works to provide additional power and fuel economy benefits on a diesel application.

Snow Performance MPG-Max
The Snow Performance MPG-Max uses the industry's most sophisticated 2d digital controller available that results in 1-3 MPG increases.  The MPG-MAX™ system does not require a sustained high load state in order to provide maximum fuel economy gains. The system also features a secondary output that is used to activate a Power Mode. The more sophisticated microprocessor introduces a independently mapped second stage of injection. A larger nozzle is used to inject more fluid to make more power. The Power Mode activation point is adjustable for best performance. The net effect is smooth power in all engine load states with no combustion quench resulting in a true turn-on-and-forget system.

Video Showing Snow Performance Mustang GT-500 Making 702 RWHP On Dyno

Snow Performance's 2014 Mustang GT-500 has been making headlines with the engine's capability of making huge horsepower gains by using Snow Performance's COMP-One water-methanol injection system. Previous dyno results went from 630 horsepower with a  larger pulley and throttle body, and a axle-back exhaust system. Adding the COMP-One water methanol injection provided 72 additional horsepower. Details of the modifications to this Mustang are featured in 5.0 Mustang Magazine. For more information, visit www.snowperformance.net.

Snow Performance 2014 GT-500 Mustang Posts Fast ET & MPH At Mopars At The Strip Event.

Equipped with only a Snow Performance Comp-One™ water-methanol injection system, a 2.4-inch supercharger pulley, and an FMS oval throttle body, the Snow Performance Mustang GT-500 posted the fastest ET and MPH at the Mopars At The Strip show held last weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 2014 Mustang ran 11.4 seconds at 128.8 MPH at the strip's 2000-ft elevation, on 91 octane pump fuel, and with a set of 315/30R20 Nitto NT-01R’s and 4.10 gears. The Mopars At The Strip Pony Car Wars invites a variety of late-model muscle cars, including Camaros, Mustangs and Challengers. Most of the competitors were running on race fuel.

Snow Performance's Comp-One™ is the industry's most advanced and complete water-methanol injection system available and features a complete dasnh-mounted monitor/tuner. For more information, visit www.snowperformance.net.

Snow Performance 2014 Mustang GT Wins Dyno Shootout At Mopars At The Strip

Matt Snow of Snow Performance with his 2014 Mustang GT-500 that won the Supercharged Dyno Shootout at the 2014 Mopars At The Strip Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Snow Performance’s 2014 GT-500 made 700 rear-wheel horsepower to win the dyno shoot-out during the Mopars At The Strip show held April 11th thru the 13th in Las Vegas, Nevada. While other late-model muscle-cars were competing in this competition on race fuel, Snow Performance's Mustang won the supercharger category running only on pump gas. The Snow Performance Mustang GT-500 is equipped with a 2.4-inch supercharger pulley, an FMS oval throttle body, and a new Snow Performance Comp-One™ water-methanol injection.
system.

With these modifications of the stock engine, the horsepower levels are increased from 583 rear-wheel horsepower in stock form, to 700 rear-wheel horsepower. Snow had uses a 10-percent lower crank pulley to try and achieve more boost from the supercharger, but later was removed because in testing, Snow discovered that the factory equipped 2.3L TVS supercharger was being pushed past its efficiency range and more power could be made with just the 2.4-inch upper pulley.

Actual dyno chart from the winning run at Mopars At The Strip Show.

According to Matt Snow, President of Snow Performance, the Mustang has more power capability, as only four-degrees of additional timing was added, and only 500ml/min of 50 percent methanol was used to hit the 700 rear-wheel horsepower mark! Snow Performance 2014 Mustang Makes 627 Rear-Wheel Horsepower

Snow Performance Mustang Makes 627 RWHP

Snow Performance’s 2014 GT-500 made 627 RWHP on pump gas. The testing was done at Colorado Speed Company’s Superflow dyno by driving stock super charger 28 percent over stock (2.4” upper along with a 10% lower). The result is up from 583 RWHP in bone stock form.

"This car continues to amaze us and has big potential," says Matt Snow, Snow Performance President. "The car has a very fat air/fuel curve from the factory and just two degrees of additional timing yields a 28 horsepower gain!" These test results and more will be in up coming issues of 5.0 Mustangs Magazine, along with future modifications that include Snow Performance's new Comp-One™ water-methanol injection system. Water Methanol Dyno Tests Can Be Misleading

When comparing water-methanol results from advertised dyno tests, it's important to understand how these tests are done and under what circumstances. For example, in a recent ad from Banks, their water-methanol testing on a 2006 Duramax diesel compared it's dyno figures with one from Snow Performance. "When you're looking at comparing water-methanol system dyno results, it's extremely difficult to know that the testing variables are the same," says Matt Snow, president at Snow Performance. "But at least make sure that the test results are making equal comparisons."

The dyno comparison in the Banks ad were not the same. The Banks testing included an aftermarket turbo upgrade and a custom tune required to achieve the advertised results. Snow Performance's water-methanol injection system performed a test on the same model year vehicle with a stock turbo and a performance tune. It's obvious the results are different, and would require anyone contemplating a water-methanol purchase to do more research. "Don't rely on dyno comparisons alone," says Snow. "Dyno tests are always conducted under the best conditions and circumstances to promote the highest results. Look for quality products and results from third-party testing that are consistent. That's the only way you're going to find the right product for your particular application, and be happy with it down the road."
